Students electing not to submit SAT/ACT scores must present a strong high school transcript in a rigorous college-prep or honors curriculum and typically will have at least a B+ average. Generally, a person is considered a resident of Florida for the purpose of paying taxes, voting or other legal purposes after residing in the state for a designated length of time. However, state statute requires additional requirements for a student to be classified as a Florida resident for tuition purposes. Most importantly, living in or attending school in Florida will not, in itself, establish legal residence for tuition purposes. Both domestic and international students can qualify for merit-based scholarships, which are based on previous academic achievement. These scholarships do not require any additional application so students are automatically considered at the point of admission.
